Technical Author - Cambridge
Technical Author*Senior Technical Author required for leading provider of 16*32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor solutions in Cambridge. You must have a minimum of 2 years (5 for senior position) technical authoring experience in a development tools environment, writing material aimed at either software developers and*or hardware designers. You should also have a Bachelors degree or equivalent related experience, comprehensive working knowledge of at least one professional publishing tool (FrameMaker or equivalent), and a good understanding of the complete documentation production cycle. Excellent writing skills are essential, as are excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of development systems, embedded applications and debuggers, microprocessors and*or System-on-Chip designs, SGML, FrameMaker+SGML, Visio, CorelDraw and Freehand software packages also an advantage. You will be writing highly technical documentation to support the company Development Tools and System Prototyping Solutions. You should be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direct supervision, and have a broad understanding of the subject matter and the ability to learn quickly. Senior position also requires the ability to plan and track multi-document projects with minimum supervision.
